First and foremost: we would love to be energy independent! Who wants to rely on government for anything, especially our utilities? In fact we just purchased our first solar panel which we are about to assemble and hopefully use at a detached building on our property in a beginning quest for our personal energy independence.
But when it comes to energy independence of our country you must understand that under Obama's plan to build more wind and more solar panels... well, we have a problem Houston... the U.S. currently lacks the transmission lines to move the energy they generate to population centers. It will take much time and a huge investment!
